Team news

Here you can find out how Newquay Riding Club teams and individual riders are progressing through the events.

5th November 2017 - Intermediate Senior Winter Qualifiers Team Report.

Great day at the BRC Intermediate Qualifiers, it was a very early start and long day for most of us including the organisers and helpers.

In the dressage we do not get a team place. However there were a few individual placings, Emma Beckerleg feared the worst but completely pulled it out of the bag with an individual 4th in the Prelim. Rhian Roberts had a fab 6th place in N30, Bex Vinton also had a fab 6th in N24 and Susan-Joy Keeping was 5th in the Medium (after a rather exuberant elementary test!).

Then a few hours later it was the Show Jumping 90/95. The team of Bex, Lucy Goldsmith, Sue-Joy and Adam Taylor followed team orders (at last!) and came a magnificent 2nd. Bex was 3rd overall after a brilliant double clear and Adam was 6th overall.

15th October 2017 - Festival of the Horse Challenge Team Report

Well done to all our team members who competed last Sunday 15th October 2017 also a big thanks to Kim Hicks for bringing Apollo for jenny and taking over as team manager after Jenny Booth jetted off to Scotland.

Everyone put in great performances but poor Jessie Lammens Keeping who had to ride Snoopy at the last minute had an unfortunate unplanned dismount.

Adrian Heidler on Wisquer was 2nd in the 100 and qualified for the champs.

The 90 team with Susan-joy Keeping & Rusty, Julie Watts & Talulah, Adam Taylor & Toby and jenny booth with Apollo won the 90 and also qualified for the champs.
sue joy-keeping was 2nd individually on Rusty and 6th on Sheila Penhaligon's Sam, Julie watts was 3rd individually in the 90.
Jenny made a boob with the 80 team (sorry Area 19 reps and teams) of Adrian & Danny, Lucy Goldsmith & Harlyn Top Flight, SJK and Topp Gunn & Zoë Boyd on May who she stole from Julie (sorry Adrian, Lucy, Sjk and Zoe - mind not on the job) and completely forgot about the no doing it rule if you have been doing BE 100, so on the day they were 3rd but officially demoted to 4th as Adrian's score had to be dropped - Jane was very understanding but I think the team manager should be sacked.

Lucy Nicole Thomas on Luci had a fantastic round after quite a long time off due to injury and where 4th individually in the 80 , SJK was on a roll despite feeling unwell and was 1st in the 80 and is also off the the champs.

Sadly No prizes for the juniors Millie Juleff on her new pony, Ellie Collings, Jessie & Emily but they all rode very well.

Thank you to our top helpers Jenny Rich, James Paul Dean and Abi Lou Kessell x
